Murphy Park is a twenty-four acre historic park located in the heart of Springdale, AR and is adjacent to the High School and three blocks from the Hospital Complex. The park includes the Public Library and Youth Center. MESA was contracted to develop a revitalization plan, which removed vehicular circulation from the interior of the park and created a more pedestrian friendly atmosphere. Improvements to the park include over a mile of paved and lighted walkways, a large accessible playground, a new pavilion and picnic areas, volleyball court, a pool complex, tennis courts, two basketball courts, soccer/open play area, an amphitheater, two hardscape plazas, additional parking lots and extensive landscaping. MESA developed construction documents and administration for Phase 1 which was completed for a cost of one million dollars.
